Change preference settings
Motion Preferences let you customize your workspace, tailor the interface for different types of projects, and define the presets for new projects and exported finished movies.
Open Motion Preferences

Choose Motion > Preferences (or press Command-Comma).
The Preferences window opens.

Click a button at the top of the window to open a preferences pane:
General preferences affect what happens when you open Motion.
Appearance preferences control visual elements of the Motion interface.
Project preferences affect project and layer duration and other project options.
Time preferences affect how time is displayed, as well as playback and keyframing.
Cache preferences affect memory management and disk usage for projects.
Canvas preferences customize your Canvas view.
3D preferences customize various aspects of working in the Motion 3D workspace.
Presets preferences set a default project type to open whenever you create a new project.
Gestures preferences affect Wacom tablets, which can be used to control Motion.
Reset preferences in Motion
After you’ve made changes to preferences, you can reset them to their original settings.
Choose Motion > Preferences (or press Command-Comma).
Hold down the Option and Command keys while opening the Motion app.

In the dialog that appears, click Delete Preferences.
Motion opens, and preferences are reset to the defaults.
